Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati is embroiled in controversy ever since it has been announced. Be it the clash between its lead actors or the scene with Karni Sena activists and the latest being the incident where a group of people vandalized the movie’s sets and destroyed it. Everything that happened, delayed the project.
However, the makers are sure that the incidents would not affect the release of the film and are adamant about it. Viacom 18, which is bankrolling the magnum opus along with Bhansali, released a statement saying that the film will release on its scheduled date. The statement read, “’Padmavati’ is not postponed. Not shifting to 2018 either. It will release on November 17, 2017″.
Deepika plays the titular character of Queen Padmavati. The film revolves around Queen Padmavati, her husband Raja Rawal Singh, played by Shahid Kapoor, and Delhi ruler Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh) who fell in love with the Rajput queen Padmavati. The film features Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles.
